In reply to Mr Barton, Mr Sheohan stated in the House, (1) -That he expoc'ed that the "Wairaate Plains would bo ready for sale early next year. (2) — That ho could not say positively where the sale would take place, but he thought Wanganui would probably be selected as the mo&t central place. (3; That portions of both the Waimate plains and the Waitotara block would be set aside for sale on the deferred payment system, and (4) That the land would be sold in the ordinary way, by auction, a doposit payable on the fall of the hammer, and the balance in one month, except for the deferred payment laud.
