Tli j polling for a Warden took place yesterday, at Sandon, between 9 am. and 4 p.m., Air Jas. Linton bein;? tho Presiding Orticer. The result was as follow* : — Jf. Dawsou 70 H. Rcckel o9 Mr Dawson Ins thus Becured a comparatively easy viol ory over his opponent. We aro p"c;i.se;l to see Mr Dawson returned, a3 j lie has always shown au earnest desire to j promote the interests of the Carnarvon District, and we fiel certain his best efforts will be dovuted to securing the good of his constituents. A certain amount of special pleading was done roceutly by the " Carnarvon correspondent" of our Puliueraton contemporary, who stated Mr Dawson's ticket was " self,'' whilst his opponent's was «• fair play io all parts of tlio Ward." The electors evidently do not share in tho correspondent's opinions, as yesterday's voting uljunddiitly testifies.
