HOUSE of REPRESENTATIVES

Special. Wellixgtost, Thursday, 7.15 p.m. Nearly the whole afternoon was occupied by an acrimonious debate as to whether the report on tho Land Tax Bill should be received. The Attorney General wag accused of haviug promised to afford an opportunity to members to re open the question of the valuation of runs, and other matters. This was denied by the Hon. Mr Stout and the flon. Air Hallance, but several members reiterated tho statement. Eventually the report was agreed with by 34 to 32.

The House will adjourn at 5.30 until to»morrow, owing to the Members' Ball.

The second reading of the Native Laud Bill comes on next Tueslay.
