SEALED TENDERS will be received at the Chief Post Office, Wellington, until Saturday, the sth day of October, prox., for the con* veyance of Inland Mails within the Postal District of Wellington, in accordance with a schedule which may be seen at the Chief Post Office, or any other office within the district. Forms of tender, with the terms and conditions of contract, may be procured at any Post Office. No tender will be considered unless made on the printed form. Tenders to be endorsed "Tender for Mail Service No. ," and addressed to the Postmaster«General, Wellington, and enclosed to the Chief Postmaster of the District. By order, W. GRAY, Secretary. TITHE attention of all Slaughterers J- of cattle, either as Butchers, or who kill for sale more than two head of large cattle in one week, is hereby called to extracts from clauses 22, 24, 27, of the Slaughter House Act, 1877 :— 22. If any person, without being duly licensed, shall keep a slaughter-house and not being duly licensed under this Act, such person shall forfeit and pay a sum not exceeding Ten Pounds for each and every head of cattle so slaughtered. 24. No license not being the renewal of a previously existinglicense, shallbe issued to any person to keep a slaughter - house unless public notice shall have been given by the applicant for the same once in each week for one month imme- ! diately preceding the time when such application is to be beard, &c. And such parties are further in. formed that on compliance with these provisions of said Act, may, on application to this Council, at one of its general meetings have liconses granted them for slaughtering on payment of fee of £2, including both classes, to the end of present year.
