CRISIS IN MARSEILLES.

LONDON, Jan. 26.

Vichy radio states that the Vichy authorities have proclaimed a state of siege in Marseilles. Nobody is permitted to enter, and buildings are being evacuated until further notice. Anyone disobeying the order or attempting to shoot will be sentenced to death. Members of the Service d'Ordre Legionnaire have been instructed to use firearms against all disregarding their elders. The Germans are rushing artillery and tanks to the old port area cf Marseilles where large numbers of Frenchmen are reported to have barricaded themselves inside the hc-uses from which they are firing on all attempting to approach, says the Daily Telegraph's correspondent on the h'rench frontier.
