SENIOR APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOTIONS. The following appointments and promotions df officers on active service with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas have been gazetted: — N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS. The following captains (temp. majors) have been promoted majors: A. S. Playle, A. M. Everist and H. A. Robinson, M.C. N.Z. ENGINEERS. Captain (temp. major) D. S. G. Marchbanks to be major. N.Z. DIVISIONAL SIGNALS. Captain (temp. major) E. L. J. Marshall to be major. N.Z. ARTILLERY. Lieutenant-Colonel R. C. Queree to be Colonel (temp.) Captain W. S. Bent to be major (temp.). Captain (temp. major) O. G. Wiles to be major. N.Z. INFANTRY. Captain (temp. major) C. M. Bennett to be major. Captain G. M. Robertson to be major (temp.). N.Z. DENTAL CORPS. Captain (temp. major) G. H. Gilbert to be major. Appointments and promotions of officer§ of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. include the following : — ^ N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS. Major (temp. Lieut.-Colonel) T. C, Wallace to be lieutenant-colonel. The following are seconded for o.uty on a transport: Colonel J. H. Whyte, D.S.O., D.C.M. (N.Z. Staff Corps) with the pay and rank of lieutenant-colonel; Lieut.-Colonel J. B. Davis, V.D. (Reserve of Officers), and Lieut.-Colonel M. A. Stedman, M.C. (N.Z. Staff Corps). Brigadier (temp. Major-General) N. W. McD. Weir, C.B.E., relinquishes the temporary rank of major-general on being seconded to the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Appointments in the Territorial Force include the following: — The Otago Mounted Rifles: Major (temp.) W. R. Pigou, 2nd N.Z.E.F., is granted the temporary rank of lieutenant-colonel while commanding a regiment. Wellington- West Coast Regiment: Captain (temp.) N. M. Izard to be major (temp.) while holding the appointment of brigade major. Canterbury Regiment: Captain (temp.) J. P. Gresson is granted the temporary rank of major while holding the appointment of brigade major. Captain (Lieutenant-Colonel, 2nd N.Z.E.F.) G. H. Tomline, M.C., the Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington's Own) ceases to be seconded to the 2nd 'N.Z.E.F. and is posted to the N.Z. Temporary Staff with the rank of major.
