HOSIERY RATIONING
COUPON FOR FEBRUARY TO JULY PERIOD. The Food Rationing Controller, Mr J. E. Thomas, announced at Wellington that the currency of the "X7" coupon for the purchase of hosiery definitely -expires on January 31, 1943. For the period February 1 to July 31, 1943, coupon No. "X13" was authorised for the purchase of fullyfashioned stockings of silk, artificial silk, or mixtures thereof. No trader could supply stoekings of the specified type during this period except on surrender of one coupon, "X13," for each pair. All other stockings may continue to be purchased with the "M" and "O" coupons, in accordance with the general coupon schedule. "Many inquiries have been received from retailers in connection with the holding of saies to clear season's fashion goods," said Mr Thomas. "It has been decided that no reductions in coupon values will be permitted for saies during 1943." 17
