There was a simple ceremony on East River Drive at 25th street, New York, a few weeks ago, in which British and American officials and residents of Bristol took part. It was the dedication of a bronze tablet given by the. English-speaking Union of the United States to mark that part of the Drive which was built from stones, brick, and rubble brought there from bombed Bristol as ballast in British ships. Part of the inscription on the tablet reads: "These fragments that once were homes shall testify, while men love freedom, to the resolution and fortitude of the people of Britain." Near the site there is to be a harbour for small boats. This is to be called Bristol Basin.
