WASHINGTON, Oct. 23.
"The time has come to speed up the simpliflcation of civilian clothing," deolared the War Production chairman, Mr Donald Nelson. A new and deeper curtailment of civilian items would be scheduled, exactly as military weapons were scheduled. Ylr Nelson, however, expressed the opinion that it was necessary to keep civilian 'economy sound to enable them to carry on a strong war programme.
