KING'S EIGHTH WIN.

LONDON, Sept. 2. The King gained his eighth success of the year when his three-year-old colt Big Game won the Champion Stakes at Newmarket on Tuesday by a length and a half from Lord Rosebery's Afterthought with Ujiji third, beaten by a head for second place. Big Game stayed the mile and a quarter over which the race was run with ease and elegance. His win was rather impressive, and was greeted with loud cheers. Big Game, waited with this time, showed no signs of being deficient in stamina. - V
