PRO-AXIS MINISTERS AND AGENTS.
P.A. Gable.
SANTTAGO, Oct. 22.
Jaoquin Fernadez, C'hilean Ambassador to Uruguay, has accepted the post of Foreign Minister after the CTerman Riesco, who had previously accepted, had ehanged his mind and declined. Senor Francisco Solar, who was sworn in as Minister for Commerce last night, resigned because the governing board of his party refused him permission to hold offi.ce. Senor Foilan Arrigada has been appointed in his place. There are indications, says the Associated Press correspondent that Chile intends firm treatment for Axis agents. The Minister for the Interior, Senor Paul Morales, has issued a decree ordering the banishment of three Germans accused of espionage after a magistrate on a legal technicality had freed them after hearing charges of secretly radioing information of ship movements. Senor Morales also ordered a search of the homes of foreigners suspected of pro-Axis activities. President Rios has issued a statement that his purpose is to defend territorial integrity and American solidarity.
