THINGS TO COME.

[To Tlie Editor.] Sir, — My reply to your correspondent, "Truth," is that the Israelitish origin of the Anglo-Saxon people is based not upon Scriptural verses "wrenched out of their context, and forced interpetations and baseless assumptions, and unhistorical data," but, on the contrary, upon a comprehensive study of all the Scriptures concerning the history of Israel and the prophecies of her future. destiny, the historical records of the migrations of the tribes int-o the British Isles, and the fact that the identifications of Israel, as distinct from the Jews, are amply fulfilled in the Anglo-Saxon race, notably Genesis xii 1-3, xxxv 11 and xlviii 19. For historical support we reiy on such writers as Josephus, Herodotus, Strabo, Pliny, Ptolemy, Dyonisius, du Chesne, Sharon, Turner, du Chaillu and ancient chronicles and monuments. From the anthropological side we are supported by Huxley, Sir Arthur Keith, Proiessor Gunther and others. In the realm of scholarship we have as British-Israel believers the following: — Professor PiazziSmyth, Professor Sayce, Professor Totten and Mr David Davidson and others, including several bishops, many clergy, leaders in the Navy and Army, medical men, and even two New Zealand statesman — Sir George Grey and the Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey — and also Major-General Sir Andrew Russell. Regarding the tribe of Manasseh, it is a Bible fact that Manasseh was the thirteenth tribe; the 13 stars and stripes of the U.S.A. are merely significant. The following quotation from Mr Churchill's address to the United States Congress last year, in view of the description of Israel as Goa's servant nation in Isaiah xiiii, is rather apt: "He must indeed have a blind soul who cannot see that some great purpose and design is being worked out here below of which we have the honour to be faithful servants." Your correspondent has apparently misread my statement about- the probability of another war. I did not state either the date or the duration of such a war, if it should come. I did suggest that the generation from 1917 to 1952, in accordance with Luke xxi 20-28, and Matthew xxiv 34, would probably' see tne events leading up to and culminating in Armageddon and the retum of Christ.
