BLENHEIM REVENUE UP £2099. ALL DEPARTMENTS INCREASE. For the four-weekly railway period ending in October the Blenheim station again showed continued increases in traffic and revenue as compared with the same period last year. As the services are now arranglng the bulk of their own boolcings the figures for passengers are less than on some recent occasions, but the growth of business is still phenome-

nal. The total revenue in the period mcreased by £2099 from £1011 in October, 1941, to £3110 this month. Rail passengers increased from 1213 in 1941 to 4475 for the four weeks this year, while road passengers carried increased from 403 in 1941 to 1885 this October. In the same period the 1941 goods tonnage was 859 in 1941 and 1838 this year. Detailed returns for each of the past four weeks, with last year's figures in parentheses, are as follows: First week: Passengers 1033 (310); road passengers 292 (118) ; goods 197 tons (185); passenger revenue £174 (£92); parcels £31 (£14); goods revenue £84 (£66) ; road revenue £202 (£69); total revenue £498 (£267). Second week: Passengers 858 (284); road passengers 323 (110) ; goods 381 tons (213) ; passenger revenue £151 (£47); parcels £25 (£11); goods revenue £189 (£117) ; road revenue £229 (£52); total revenue £624 (£263). Third week: Passengers 1614 (358); road passengers 907 (95); goods 483 t^ons (274) ; passenger revenue £366 (£75); parcels £23 (£8); goods revenue £152 (£132) ; road revenue £488 (£61); total revenue £1058 (£296). Fourth week: Passengers 988 (261); road 363 (80); goods 776 tons (117); passenger revenue £190 (£42) ; parcels £23 (£8); goods revenue £453 (£61); road revenue £212 (£59) ; total revenue £930 (£185).
