DEPOSITS PER HOUSEHOLD. BLENHEIM HEADS DOMINION. In spite of some recent disappointments Blenheim postal district and Blenheim town still head the list of Dominion offices in National Savings, when population flgures are taken into account. For example, at September 30 there were 4196 households in the Blenheim postal district and there were then 5388 National Savings depositors, group and individuai oi" 128.4 for every 100 households. Timaru eame next with 110.8 per cent. and Wanganui 109. Invercargill 101, Nelson 91.49, V/ellington 90.8, Hamilton 90.4, Palmerston North 88, followed in that order. Gisborne 54.1 per cent., Oamaru 54,2 were down at the bottom of the list. For the chief offices in the main centres only the flgures were still rnore in favour of Blenheim, which again headed the list. There are 2302 households in the town and 3552 depositors which give a percentagc of 154.3. The towns to follow in their order were: Wanganui 129.9 per cent., Timaru 106.7 per cent,. Westport 105.9, Nelson 103.21, and Greymouth 98.1. Gisborne, with 4047 households and a percentage of 67.75 and Auckland with 60,250 house- - holds and a percentage of 62 were at the foot of the list, with Oamaru figures not available.
