The lext of the Navy Department's latest communique is as follows: "No report has been received of any rnaterial change in the military eituation in the Solomons. On Tiiesday a minor enemy thrust against the western flank of our troop positions on Guadalcanar v/as repulsed. Euring Tuesday night an enemy bomber was sliot down over Guadalcanar. The bomber is believed to have been on a reconnaissance mission. It was destroyed by anti-air-craft fire. "Our aircraft continue to be active, seeking out and bombing enemy troop and supply concentrations on Guadalcanar."
