NO REQUEST FROM FRAU HESS

RECENT REPORT CONTRADICTED.

P.A. Gable.

LONDON, Oct. 20.

No request has been received from Frau Hess to be allowed to join her husband, Rudolf Hess, who is being treated as a prisoner of war and receiving appropriate treatment. This statement was made in the House of Commons by Mr Law, the UnderSecretary for Foreign Affairs, in reply to questions. Mr Law added that even if Frau Hess made such a request, there would jbe no question of granting such facilities, for which there was no provision in the Prisoners of War Convention.
