U.S. DRAFT AGE BILL
PO S SIBILIT Y OF AMENDMENT.
P.A. Cable.
NEW YORK, Oct. 20.
A Columbus (Ohio) message states that Senator Taft predicted to-day that an amendment would be submitted to the Senate eliminating 18-year-olds from the Draft Bill. Senator Taft said that he favoured 19-year-olds, but did not know about those of 18 years. Senator Taft complained of rushing the Bill too much and said it should not be passed until the whole manpower problem was solved.
