IJ-BOAT ATTACK IN ST. LAWRENCE. P.A. Cable. QUEEEC, Oct, 15. A submarine torpedoed and sank a rnerchantman in a small convoy off Metis Beach, 180 miles upstream in the mouth of the St. Lawrence River —the furthest upstream yet. Twelve men are missing, and 18 were rescued.
