BLENHEIM MAN'S CLAIM
| DAIvfAGES AWARDED. COLLISION OF BUS AND CYCLE.

WELLINGTON, Oct. 16.
A petition against the Crown alleging negligence by a driver of a New Zealand Railways Road Services bus was heard in the Supreme Court, Wellington, yesterday, when Arthur John Boon, Blenheim, claimed special damages of £256 18s and general damages: of £850. The claim arose out of an accident at Petone when as a result of a collision between a cycle and a bus. plaintiff stated he had received mjuries resultmg in partial incapacitation. Mr E. Parry appeared for Boon and Mr C. A. L. Treadwell for the Crown, which denied negligence, but claimed alternatively that if negligence was proved it had been contributory. The jury awarded plaintiff £162 18s special damages and £224 general damages after a retirement of abouttwo hours. v
