WASTE PAPER

BIGGEST SHIPIVIENT YET. TOTAL NOW NEARLY 40 TONS. To-day the High street Waste Depot had its biggest day since the anti-waste campaign started. Aitogether 5 tons 31 cwt. was despatched for repulping, bringing the total sent from the depot this year up to 39 tons 11 cwt. To-day's shipment comprised 13 bales and 17 bundles of past-use sacks from the depot of a w-eight of 2 tons 4 cwt. In addition 14 bales of waste paper weighing 2 tons 191 cwt , were packed and despatched by volunteers from D-algety and Co.'s offices. The 50-tons-before-Christmas ob - jective seems well on the way to achiev-ement, but it would seem that more volunteers should come forward' if the willing horses ar-e not to have their backs broken with the last straw.
