MELBOURNE, Oct. 13.
Following are the aooeptors for the Caulfield Guineas: Amazed. Bayard. Chatfield, Demris, James, Emphatic, Grain Trader, Great Britain, Harol, Huntingdale, Illyrian, Leahero, Mantoto, Mosfino, Parida, Philip, Quezon, Reg'ister, William the Gonqueror, Carruca, Nalong, and Whiteline. Thirty-two survived the final acceptance in the Toorak Handicap. It is impossible to start so many. Government regulations prohibit more than seven raees in one day, and as the present programme comprises seven, the club is faced with the alternative of a ballot of horses from the Toorak Handicap, or dividing that event and deleting the hurdle race from the programme. As a result of the good form of The Trapper in the MeToourne Stakes, his connections are giving consideration to starting him in the Caulfield Oup A decision will be made following his effort in the Toorak Handicap on Saturday. The Melbourne Cup candidate, Wise Counsel, after a week's absence following a leg injury, worked freely.
