NEW YORK, Oct. 13.
Although the press is giving tremendous publicity to Joe Louis's reported retirement, Louis told the promoter, Mike Jaco'os, emphatically that he v/as not retiring. Furthermore, as soon as the war was over he would be back in the ring defending his title. The New York Athletic Commissioner, Mr Phelan, declared that Louis will be regarded as world champion until he submits written notice of his retirement. IT
