HITLER'S CRUEL IDEA

CHAINING OF BRITISH PRISONERS.

P.A. Cable.

LONDON, Oct. 14.

It is learned in London from a re~ liable source that the chaining oi British prisoners was personally ordered by Hitler. A Toronto message says that returning Canadian invalids from Dieppe denied German claims of illtreatment of Nazi prisoners. Private Fowler said: "I saw our nurses light cigarettes and shove them into the Nazis' mouths. Every--one tried to make the Nazi prisoners as comfortable as us, and the Jerries lying beside me were darn grateful."
