NEW COUPONS
BOOK ISSUE NEXT MONDAY, TO LAST TWELVE MONTHS. Some anomalies that caused comment during the1 currency of the existing ration books have been rectified in the new ones that will be issued next Monday. Healthy children have the knack of knocking out more clothes than their elders, but they were allowed only the same amount last time. Also, although this country is a world leader in teadrinking, it achieves front rank in that department without much assistance from babies. The' first ration becks gave each child as much tea per week as its parents, The new ration bccks^ — which will be for a period of 12 monthS'— - classify the i^olders as adults or children. Books for children under ten years have ,no tea coupons; the sugar allowance is the same. On the other hand. an extra sheet of clothing coupons is provided for children who have reached five! years, but will not be 17 before January 1 next. In applymg for the new books the public must fill in their names on the counterfoil on the O coupon page, and in the case of children the date of birth should be entered in the space marked for the retail er. The counterfoil, together with the original book, must be handed in for checking puiposes. The book itself will b-e given back for the O coupons Clothing coupons will now be available and the M coupons will be valid until May next year. Actually the first, book will be permanently required for reference and should be looked after carefully. There are some minor chaiiges in procedure that will come in with the new book. The retailer mentioned ih the first book will be the permanent retailer for sugar, though a change from one district toi another' will entitle the consumer to get a change made by retailers from one to another without bothering the Rationing Officer. Tea can be bought any where1. The tea coupons will be out out as formerly, but the sugar coupons will be cancelled in ink or with a rubber stamp and remain in the book. The books will b© bigger and carry more coupons — but it will be inadvisable to go on a coupon spree — they have to last twice as long. v
