GIFTS TO MR JORDAN
MESSAGE FROM HAILE SELASSIE

LONDON, Oct. 13.
The Ethiopian Minister, Blatta Ayela Gabre, handed to Mr Jordan, the N.Z. High Commissioner, an autographed photograph of the Emperor Haile Selassie, also a walking stick made from native timber, with a rhinoceros horn handle bearing Selassie's personal monogram in gold. They were personal gifts from Selassie to Mr Jordan. The photograph is beautifully framed in native worked silver. A personal message of friendship and goodwill to Mr Jordan from the Emperor accompanied the gifts.
