'TOO OLD FOR FIGHTER'
JOE LOUIS PLANS TO RETIRE.

NEW YORK, Oct. 11.
Joe Louis has indicated that he plans to retire from the ring. "My fighting days are over," he said. "By the time the war is over I will be in my thirties, and that's too old for a fighter. I am too old now." Louis is 28.
