RUGBY, Oct. 11.

The Minister for Supply has appointed General Sir W. K. Venning (who retired recently from the post of Quartermaster-General to the Forces) to be Director- General of the British Supply Mission to Washington, in succession to Mr E. P. Taylor, who has resigned on account of illhealth. He has also appointed Mr J. C. Patteson, the present DirectorGeneral of Supply Services in the Ministry of Supply, to be the representative of Canada. Prior to the war he was European manager of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The Air Ministry has announced the apnointment of Air Marshal Sir J. S. T. Bradley to the Air Ministry as deputy air member for the supply organisation in place of Air ViceMarshal D. G. Donald. The latter has been appointed with acting rank as Air Marshal to be Air Offieer Chief-in-Cornmand, Maintenance Command, vice Air Marshal Bradley. — V
