RIFLE-SHOOTING

THE BLENHEIM CLUB, Last Saturday the Blenheim Defence Rifle -Club fired the Tollan match, over ranges of 800 and 900 yards, and the ohampionship final, over 900 yards. W. F. Cheesman was a popular winner of the match, while some -good individual scores were put up. Conditions at 800 yards being ideal, while at 900 yards some care had to be exereised. J. W. Paynter registered a 49 at 800 yards, finishing after a good fight for the possible with 4-5-5. W. Corlett also registered a 49 at 900 yards, finishing 4-5-5-5. This was a fine perfarmanee as oonditions were just the reverse to those earlier in the afternoon. Foliowing are scores: —

The . final shoot for the . Harding championship belt was also completed, W. H. West ibeing the winner. The foliowing riflemen completed the series, the final shoot appearing in parentheses: —

JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP CUP. * This cup is for eompetition among junior members of the club, with the highest aggregate of three best shoots of 10 shots over all ranges. The results are: — W.
