Mad jackals are terrorising a large area in the Mominabad district, in Deccan. to such an extent that ihe villa-gers are afraid to venture out unless armed. So far over a hunc:i ed persons have been bitten and five have died. It is presumed that a mad jackal bit a bul.1, which died, and that the carcase was eaten by the other jackals which have been . infected.
