INQUIRY IN AUCKLAND. PROCEEDINGS IN CAMERA.

AUCKLAND, June 27. Presided over by a magistrate, Mr S. L. Patterson, with a police offlcial and a member of the public as assistants, an inquiry is being held concerning allegea breaches of the regulations said to have been made by certain commissioned police officers and subordinates. The allegations are made by Mr Arthur Ernest Warde and mdny police have been subpoenaed. It is expected that the inquiry will last a few days. The inquiry is in camera, the Police Force Amendment Act, 1924, stating that no barrister or solicitor shall at--tend without the permission of the Minister for Justice, and that the press and public shall be excluded. The Magistrate finally reports to the Minister.
