— By Tel. Copyright.

(Received June 26, 10.25 p.m.) BERLIN, June 25. Herr ICrowein, director of the Bemberg Artificial Silk Ccmpany, has announced disooveries permitting Germany to eliminate raw material in the manufacture of the firm's textiles. One material offers a useful addition toi wooilen fabrics. Both are produce d by the ammoniac cop-per-oxide pxocess. Herr Frowein disclosed that a new fibre, alone or with a sinai! mixture of wool, makes, a, new and serviceaible material to replace wbol. Tests car- . ried 'out at leading German wool coimbing and worsted yarn spinning fnills resulted in a mixed wool material from the new fibre, which is meeting with a reasonable derftund. Efforts are being made to technically perfect the fibre, which already gives greater resistance to damp and increased wearing resistance. Two or three tons are being produced daily. Herr Frowein hopes that it will soon largely replace wool.
