. LONDON, June 22. In some of the county cricket matches scdring was low, quite a. riumber of the bowlers, including harwood, recording excellent figures. Wensley had a good match for Sussex against Oxford University, taking in all twelve Wiekets. Among the batsmen to perform with distinction was Keeton, who made a score of 261 for Nottinghamshire against Gloueestershire. The results were: — Essex v. Leicestershire, at Chelmsford: Leicestershire, 162 and 219; Essex 294 (Shipmian four for 14) and 88 for eight wiekets (Smith six for 40). Essex won by two wiekets. Yorkshire v. Middlesex, at Leeds: Middlesex, 123 and 65 (Macaulay sixfor 22) ; Yorkshire, 191 for four wiekets, declared (Mitchell 102 not out). Yorkshire won by an innings and 3 runs. Worcestershire v. Somerset, at Worcester : Worcestershire, 332 (Gibbons 83, Martin 82) and 23 for no wiekets ; Somerset, 130 and 224 (Perks six for 61). Worcestershire won by ten wiekets-. Derbyshire v. Kent, at Chesterfield: Derbyshire, 278 (Freeman six for 105) and 299 (Jackson 93); Kent 300 (Valentine 77) and 96 for two wiekets. Kent won on the first innings. Nottinghamshire v. Gloueestershire, at Nottingham : Gloueestershire, 226 (Larwcod six for 45) and 199; Nottinghamshire, 478 for five wiekets, declared (Keeton 261). Nottinghamshire won by an innings and 53 runs. Lancashire v. Hampshire, at Manchester: Lancaishire, 158 (Kennedy five for 43) and 33 for three wiekets; Hampshire, 225 (Sibbles six for 90). Hampshire won on the first innings. Glamorgan v. Warwiekshire, at Swansea: Warwiekshire, 376 (KempWelch 123 not out); Glamorgan 272 for six wiekets. Match drawn. Surrey v. Cambridge University, at the Oval: Cambridge- University, 377 (Human 85, Davies 133; Watts seven for 95) and 116 for two wiekets1; Surrey 497 (Gregory 73, Sandham 115, Barling 159). Match drawn. Sussex v. Oxford University, at Eastbourne: Sussex, 388 (Cox 83; Singleton si^ for 75) and 53 for two wiekets; Oxford University, 210 (Wensley seven for 109) and 230 (de Saram 90; Wensley five for 89). Sussex won by eight wiekets.
