- — 1 g i vT-iy Miss R. M. Jones (Nelson) and Mr J. Shamy (Christchurch) are staying at the Criterion Hotel. Messrs M. Keeley and R. Beech, of Picton, are guests at the Masonic Hotel. Mr J. Stack, of Kaikoura, was a guest at the Club Hotel over the week-end. Mr T. M. Hinkley, who was reef, ntly appointed manager of the Sydney branch of the United Press Association, arrived at Sydney yesterday aboard the Wanganella. Guests at Barry's Hotel include Dr P. R. Woodhouse (Timaru), Messrs D. D. McLeod (Palmerston North), A. F. Wright (Christchurch), E. Hay (Pigeon Bay), and Miss O. K. Baker (Nelson). Mr J. Best, of the Old Boys Rugby Club, who has. been selected to play in the South Island trial match at Oamaru on Wednesday, left Blenheim this morning for the south. He travelled in company with the Nelson representatives, Messrs D. Max and R. Busch. Mr G. A. Bridges, a member of the executive of the South Canterbury Automobile Association, will act as the representative of the Marlborough Automobile Association at the quarterly meeting of the South Island Motor Union at Timaru on Friday. Mr D. P. O'Connor, whose marriage takes place shortly, was. presented with a case of brushes on Saturday by his fellow members of the Tuamarino Cricket Club. Mr J. B. Barnett, president of the club, made the .presentation. Miss A. Hastilow, the bride-to-ibe, and Mr O'COnnor, were also entertained by the Arotea Ilockey Club. Various branches of sport in which he has taken an active interest were represented at a dinner tendered Mr W. J. Fuller at the Masonic Hotel on Saturday night. Mr Fuller, who leaves on Thursday on transfer to the Wellington branch of the Bank of N.S.W., was farewelled by Messrs H. Lark (president of the Opawa, Rugby Football Club), R. C. Dobson (representing the Marlborough Ama.teur Athletic and Cycling Club) , N. Eiagan (ion behalf of amateur boxing enthusiasts), and E. R. Clarkson (treasurer of the Old Boys Rugby Club). References were made to Mr Fuller'® keenpess as an all-rounder in sport, and regret was expressed at his departure from Blenheim.
