When James Tolley, an unemployed mincr, of Hemsworth, was sen't to prison. for three months at Pontefract for negleeting his wife and fire children, it was stated that Tolley owned niu© vaiuable homing pigeons, but although his family were with out food he refuised to sell them and fed them on Indian corn.
