For pub.lishing a leaflct appealing to the striking miners to 'pull out the safety men Douglas Spi'inghall, seeretary of tlie Yourig Communist League, was sentenced to three months' imiprisonment, under the Em ergency Regu 1 atio n s . The publisher was fined £100, on the grouncl that the pamphlet tcnded to prolong tlie dispute and enoourage the strikers to act- illegally.
