Although considerable damage was don© to property by the hurricane yesterday tho conditions in the city are norma], with little to justify the ea; ly reports that it was destroyed or greatly damaged. Although reports, are current that two persons had been drowned, the authorities are uii ihle to find that any deaths oceurred. No foreigners ^ were in j ured . The chief damage was l'azed wooden buildings along the waterfront, while tlie banr.na ancl sugar pl amtati ons inland were severely knoeked about.
