WELLINGTON, Oct. I. The Mayor yesterday made a statement in regard to^ the reappearancei of the unemployment difficulty, and suggested that in yiew of the fact that there was a limit to> the funds which local bodies had available to give relief, business Iieeple and private citizens could gieatly assist in overcoming tlie difficulty by putting in hand without delay any work which they had in view. There are at tlie present timo 319 men registered on the Labor Department's books, and this, considering the population of Wellington, is regarded as rather serious.
