AUCKLAND, Sept. 30. Mr A. Harris, M,.P. for Waitemata, delivered a political address at Northcote. Commenting 011 the Fri-me Minister's recommendation that he should "Go home!" he said he would do -so when told to do so by h-is constituents. He was willing to submit himself to th© eleetors and was satisfied that he would be- returned by an overwhelming majority. These and subsequent remarks were received with applause. Mr Harris said he did not say that t-he Government had abused th© power of its large majority, but- it was a danger. H© said th© committee s©t- up to report on the niotor'bus regulations was so composed that it- was never doubted it would report in favor of the regulations. He was pledged to vot-e for the Government on a no-eonfi-dence motion, but if legisl-ation was brought down that he -did not think was right he would vote against- it.. The- meeting passed a -resolution reaffirming unbounded confidence in Mr Harris as member for Waitemata and expressed entire approval and endorsement of his action, The Takapuna Borough Council by 7 to 3 votes decided to exercis© its option to purehase the tram and ferry service for £65,000 subject to a poll o-f the ratepayers.
