AUCKLAND, Sept. 30. A satisfactory way of settling a little difficulty was adopted by tlie Devonport Borough Council. The recently formed branch of the Na-vy League at Devonport, which has acquired a hall and club-room, made a request for a. reduction of the licen.se fee. The counciUors resolved that rather than interfere with tlie Borough by-laws and as a, mark of appreeiation of Ihe, good work undertaken by the League they would subseribe the first iicense fee themselves as a donation to the League' s funds:,
