[Pre98 Association.]

WELLINGTON, Sept, 30. The Telegraph Department is planning to. have the new telephone circuit between Blenheim and Cliristcliuroh erected by the end of June, 1927. When this work is completed it will be a very much wider range of telephonio communication between the North and South Islands than is possible at present. There is a good deal of work to be. done on the pole liries between Blenheim and Christchurch, as new poles have. to be erected in many places, the spans shortened, and wire circuits rearranged. In addition a copper metallic circuit between Blenheim and Christchurch has to be erected. The number of construction parties engaged upon the work will be increased as material becomes available.
