Mr and Mrs C. 0. T. Rutherford, of Craiglochart, fvlio have been on a tour of Great Britain and the C'ontinent, wer© to leave London on August 31 for France by the air route. At Marseilles they were to connect with a vessel for Sydney, and they are expected to reaoh Blenheim about, October 20. The Governor-General has notified Mr W. B. Fisher, honorary .secretary of the Dominion executive of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, that the King has sanctioned his appointment as a Knight of Graoe of the Venerable Order of St. John of Jerusalem within the British realm. Mr Fisher' is the eig;hth New Zealander to receive the honor. Mr W. D. Piko, representing the Marlborough-Nelson-Westland district, leaves Blenheim this evening for Wellington, to attend the first meeting of the newly-elected Board of Agriculture. One of the matters to be dealt with by the Board at its meeting on Friday is the selection of a representative for nomination as a member of the Agricultural College Council.
