Lord Sefton, owne-r of Aintree, asked tho local council to include the racecouvse jn the town planning .scheme. • The possibilitv of the- demohtion of the famous Graud National course caused a sensation in sporting circles, as it is fea-red t-hat it will deal a blow at- English steeplcchasing from which it possibly would not recover.
