AUCKLAND, Sept. 30. Oats : Th© demand is quiet at 5s 6d ex store in small lines. Chaff : An advanee of 10s has taken place in Blenheim, and this description is now selling here at £12 10s, while fair quantities of Oanterbury are moving off at £12. The Kaiwarra is due next week with a shipment of Australian chaff, and this is higher at £11 10s, owing to the extra freight now payable. Good saies to arrive are being made as the market is now bare. Flour : A fall of £1 in the South is not reeflcted here, and the maintenanee of recent quotations has indluoed little importation. Previous purchases were from Melbourne and Adelaide, but Sydney is now quoting also and this is at cheaper freigfft in addition to more eonvenient opportunities for shipping. Bran and Pollard : Both are redluced, and this will effeotively stop further importations from Australia, especially as the dem.and is falling off. Maize : The local market is overstocked with excessive shipments from the Coast, the difficulty in selling being made all the more pronounoed through the varying quality. Best samples are realising 5s 9d to 6s on wharf in wholesale lines, but soft kinds are dragging in a weak market. Potatoes: A large shipment arrived1 from the South by the Kurow on Monday, and as fhey came to rather a bare market most of them sold at once, the price being £7 ex wharf or £7 5s ex store. There is now no steamer till next week, when three are due, after whieh there will be ample supplies, but the Kurow will probably be about equal to this week's requirements. Onions: Canadian are selling well at about 22s 6d a crate, and as there is Southern inquiry it is thought that soone will liave been ordered to arrive by the San F'rancisco steamer. No more will arrive in Auckland for a fort night, just too late for the Mand steamer, and the latter will probably take up most of the available supplies next week.
