A school fceaeher in ihe Nelson district was giving a lesson oni law and order. prisons, ete., and to make his meamng clear, he asked the following qucstion: "Supposing I was to gb to Motueka and start throwing stones and breaking windows and kieking up a fxiss in the street generally, where would they send me?" After a moment's hesitation, one boy put up his hand and said : "Please, sir, to the lunatic asyfum !" After the laughter had suhsided the tcacber said: "No, no, where do they generally send all the rogues and vagahonds?" "To Parliament, sir!" said the boy without a momjont's hesitation. *
