LORD JELLICOE'S ADVIOE. c ' LEAD A STEADY LIFE." L0ND0N, July 10. Earl Jellicoe, chairman of the council of the National Riflo Association, presented at Bisley Camp fbe prizes which had been won at tho Royal Navy Riflo Association meeting at Bisley. Addressing tho boys, he said that rifle shooting taught them that the man who did not lead a steady life was not going to be mueh of a shot. A man eould not put on a possible who had a whisky and soda before going to the range. "You will flnd," Lord Jellicoe said, "that the best shdts are those people who livo steady lives. I do not mean, however, that you will not flnd good shots among people who are fond of other drinks. I ain fond of ' a drink myself." Vigor and sound reminisceut of wai* j days marked the Lewis guu match, aj new competition for teams of four \ from the forces, which excited keen ! interest among experts. Forty-three ' teams lay pronc at the 600 yards, j and fired at small targets exposed for j a minute at intervals of 30 seconds, j setting up a revel in spluttering that rang amid the surrounding hills and echoed baek to the valley with wcird etfects even for Bisley. „ Carrying the heavy guns the teams doubled to tho 300 yards, some men stumbling in the gorse-hidden irrigation ruts and recovering rapidly amid the eheers of the large croivds who watched the development of the new enterprise. Direct hits only counted.
