A TOWN UNDER. WATER. FAMOUS SPRTNGS BURIET). (Received Sept. 28, 9.40 p.m.) GENEVA, Sept. 27. Wide areas of Switzerland are throatened with disaster by floods in the Rhone Valley, particularly in tlie jFanton of Valais. A great viaduct carrying the railway from Milan io Lausanne was damaged and the traffic on . the Simplon l ine was divcrted. The town of Lavey was completely flooded, and the buildings at ihe fanious thermal springs were destroyed. Eears are expressed that the springs have heen damaged irretrjevably. An exi>edition has heen despatched to helpi ihe people in the mountain village, which has been wilhout light or water for tho past two d,ays. The town of St. Maurico is threatened, and troops and fi.ro brigades have been called out. Tlie River Rhone at one point has completely changed its hed.
