[Press Association.!
Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association.
(Received Sept. 28, 5.5 p.m.) JNEW YORK, Sept. 27. The variety of rumors conoerning tne visit of Mdlle Lenglen and Ather tennis players to Australia has been branded false hy Mr Pyle, who states that tho plans even f'or the American tour are not yet formulated. Mr Pyle six weeks ago announced that ho hoped after the Davis Cup matches and national singles to he able to engage a nnmher of prominent male players for the American tour, but all the leading players denied their intention of turning professional. Anything assumhig the proportions of a world' s tour for Mr Pyle's players is generally doubted, as is the probability of the sucoess of the American tour, upon which the exoursions abroad, including Australia, wonld depend. Mr Pyle at present has engaged only MdTle Lenglen, Brown, and Feret, and it is questioned whether tliose, without considerable augmentation, wonld be sufficient for playing exhibitions.
