CHANGE, S IN FORTHCOMING EVENTS. (By Telegraph — Own Correspondent., AUCKLAND, Sept. 28. The wcll-kuown Auckland, lightweight apprentice jockcy W. H. .foncs roturned from Australia by the Aorangi. .Tones has spent four months in Australia and has ridden with success in Queensland, where he won eight races. He also rode at Sydney meetings. Interviewed, Jones stated that be won most. of the principal races -in Queensland. He rode Bernesk to victory in the Townsville Cup, valued at 1000 sovereigns, and on tbe sarne horse the Charters Towers Handicap. He also won four Flying Handicaps on Linaway. In Sydney he rode several horses trained by George Price and owned by Mr H. L. Russell, the New Zealand owner. Questioned regarding the form of New Zealand horses at the fortheoming spring meeting in Australia, Jones said that Limerick, in his opinion, had ,a fine ehance in the Australian IJerby. Count Cavour on arrival in Australia did not seem to be the same horse as he was in New Zealand, but he had improved wonderfully and looked to have more than a reasonable ehance in the Metropolitan. Star Stranger ancl Rapine were going on well, and Roy Reed liked his chances on whatever was selected by A. B. Williams for the Metropolitan.
