Althongli the loeal team comprised six of last year's junior players, they were never found wanting, the Wellington players being t'uliy ©xtended at tinies. Stirling socred the only goal of the first spell and he added JMarlborough's seoond early in the seoond spell. Marlborough wero thus leading by 2-0 until about the last half-hour, when the visitors steadily wore down their lighter opponents, Cakebread sooring t\vo goals and C. Elliot the third. Mr R. Renai refereed. After the match, a dinneiv was Ihekl in the Masonic Hotel, Mr Renai presiding. After the usual feasts were honored a pleasant evening was brought to a olos© bv the singing of "Auld Lang Syne." Tlie visitors spent yesterday morning motoring to White's Bay in Mr N. Brams's bus, while Mr I . Sniith took.the team for a trip to the Wairau Bar to-dav. The visitors return to Wellington by to-night s boat, leaving town a.t 9 p.m. by bus.
