A serious accident befel a ten-year-old pup-il of Nelson College^ R-ex Lucas, youngev son of Mr K. G. Luoas, on tlie cricket ground at- the College on Friday afternoon. II e was engaged with a oo-nsiderable number of other boys in pulling the heavy turf roller, (reports the Mail), vvhen he slipped or tripped, and there being t-oo much way on the implement, it could not be stopped before he had thrown himself quite clear. The heavy roller passed over his left- leg and arm fra-cturing the ,'thigh -bone just a-bovo half-way between tlre knee- and the thigh, and also ihe left elbow. The lad was removed to the Public Hospital, where Y-i'ay and further examination xtevealed the fact that fortunateiy there had been no inte-rnal injury. The lad will be in the instiWt'ion for at least six weeks. 1
